I am currently going through rotations in molecular and cellular biology labs, namely, the Manning Lab🥼, the McInally Lab🥼, and the Farny Lab🥼
I applied for my Ph.D. studies with a deep interest in understanding the complex dynamics of chromosome segregation during cancer cell division, a research project I look forward to undertake in a rotation in the Manning Lab. Additionally, with my background in Computational Mathematics and strong interest in utilizing both experimental and computational techniques in solving biological problems, I am eager to undertake rotations in the McInally Lab and the Farny Lab. In the McInally Lab, I will be looking into validating the Limited Pool Actin Model in Yeast, while in the Farny Lab, I will be working on understanding the chemical interactions taking place between Aptamers and toxic metals such as Copper.
I enjoy coding, mathematical thinking, and uncovering patterns in data. Beyond academia, I’m someone who thrives on goal-setting and planning ahead. I value deep, meaningful conversations, love playing chess, and stay active through home workouts or intense games of table tennis. As a former powerlifter with three competitions under my belt, I can say the energy is contagious. I'm also a proud cat lover - we share our home with two, Gizmo and Ez.
